Anonymous asked: Are you going to "The Beatles: The Lost Concert" movie premier in a few weeks?

What the hell kind of random question is this~

No, I am not going to “The Beatles: The Lost Concert” movie premier in a few weeks (or next month as your second ask question stated).

My mind is boggled as to why I found this question twice in my ask box.

haneulsky asked: I thought you had to seperate it into the coin rolls then give it to them... I

Even if we put aside the question of fetal personhood and assume that a fetus should have the same rights as a born human being, giving that fetus the right to use another person’s body for its surivval would give it privileges that born people do not have. In no other case is a person legally compelled to use their body and their internal organs to sustain another’s life. We do not require parents to donate kidneys or even blood to their children, and we do not require anyone to be a good Samaritan and risk their life or health for another. It is difficult to imagine a case in which we would legally require a father to keep his child physically attached to his body, using his organs for survival, physically impairing him, and requiring him to miss work and possibly undergo surgery, for nearly ten months.
It would be difficult to make the case that the child (or full-grown adult) has a right to use their father’s body for survival. Yet this is exactly what opponents of abortion rights argue— except the body in question is female,

This is SO useful.  Great analysis.

Conservatives, go home. You’ve lost this one.

…..No. Just… No. What about conjoined twins? Say there was a set of conjoined twins, and while they were both fine together, if they were separated, one of them would die. Would it be ok for the twin, on the lucky side, to decide she wanted to live alone, condemning the other to death? Why not. She’s just leaching off her organs. Let the weak die, and the strong survive. Survival of the fittest and all that.

(via haneulsky)

I don’t think I understand your point. Sharing organs =/= leeching off of each other. Not to mention the fact that for the twins to decide that they’d have to be of legal age and at that point they would both have to agree to it or it would be murder so I’m kinda missing where you’re going with this.

How is it any different. Say both twins have the same organs, except for say… heart, and liver. Their other organs, and their entire bodies will have been severly weakened by sharing these organs, so their chances of transplant surgery are very low. But one twin has a full set of organs inside of their part of the body. If they cut away the other twin, they can live a fuller, longer, and more healthy life. Basically they are responsible for keeping that other sibling alive, at the cost of their own wellbeing. Is that murder?

Think of it like this. You have a younger sibling who is severely physically, and developmentally challenged. When you are in  your mid 20’s your parents die, and leave you custody of said sibling. They can’t eat, or walk, or work,  or even talk. It’s a drain on you psychically, and mentally. Do you keep supporting them, or do you just leave them to fend for themselves. And at least then, if you abandon them, they could fall on some kind of charity, or govt support program. It’s not a total death sentence. But is it the right thing to do?

My views on abortion have nothing to do with the fact that I am a man. I just flat out think it’s murder. I think aborting a baby is the same as pulling out a gun, and shooting someone in the face. It doesn’t matter if you are a man, or a woman. Killing people is wrong.

The only time I would agree with abortion is when the mothers life is threatened. If carrying the baby to term means that you and/or the babies life is severely threatened… It’s one of those situations where everything sucks.

Finally, I don’t know about the authors father, but knowing my own… If I needed medical aid, and it psyically required me to be attached to his body for 10 months, he would do it. He might not enjoy it, but he would do it, because he is a damn good parent. Honestly, if you aren’t willing to sacrifice, your time, health, energy, money, and even your life for your kids…. you are pretty shitty parent.

responding to shithead above~~do you think crackhead Betty and sweet sixteen Lisa are going to be good parents? Are they going to be good parents if they feel like they were forced to have their baby? What quality of life do you think a child born with down syndrome will have if his parents are forced to have him? In a perfect world all parents would sacfrice everything for their child. There wouldnt be poverty, hunger, abuse or neglect either. This isn’t a perfect world. Be thankful you have a wonderful father but realize the gun you want to point delivers a lifetime of suffering.

I Know That Feel, Bro by Chris Gerringer

Chris Gerringer knows that feel. And it turns out, several different characters from across the geek globe know that feel too, linking them in ways that brings them all closer together. Whether it’s mourning dead parents with Batman and Harry Potter, tight living spaces with Pikachu and Aladdin’s Genie, or the demoted scientific status of the Triceratops and Pluto. I know most (hip) people have probably seen some of these before, but Chris’ series is so endearing and so right fucking on that it deserves one last look. I hope you know that feel too.
